Andrea and her husband Shane are pleased to announce the birth of their son Ryland Eric Holmgren at 11:54 pm on May 23rd. He was born at
Surrey Memorial Hospital and weighed in at 8 lbs., 10 oz. Mom and baby are doing well. Our congratulations to all three of them!

With regret we have had to take our base metal findings pages offline temporarily as cost increases (both from the manufacturer and due to the Canadian

Effective March 3rd we have had to raise our prices on Sterling
Silver and Gold Filled wire and sheet metal products. This was
made necessary by market prices which are now more than 10%
higher than previous 20 year highs and more than 35% higher
since December 2007. We continue to monitor the situation
closely for developments.

 Softflex
24kt Gold Flex Wire
We have obtained a small supply of this specialty wire in the
0.024" thickness that has been out of stock by the
manufacturer since Softflex's plating operation was forced
out of production by Hurricane Katrina.
At the present time Softflex is concentrating on filling ALL
dealer backorders for the Extreme 925 product so they do not
plan on re-releasing 24kt Flex wire until they are caught up. We
believe our stock to be an exclusive until then. Softflex
representatives have confirmed we should not expect re-supply of
the .014" and .019" sizes of this product before September at
the earliest.

Sterling Silver plated wire is back!
 This highly popular product was first
introduced in 2005 and created great customer excitement
when it was first launched
- only to have their plating plant forced out of production by Hurricane
Katrina. Over the last 18 months Softflex has
extensively redesigned and tested this product which is
now considerably stronger than the original version.

Announcement:
Capilano Rock
and Gem was founded in May 1976 by Chuck and Phyllis Craver. We
expanded in 1987 from 800 to 2400 square feet in 1987 in our
original location and expanded again when we moved to our
present location in 1993. We were saddened by the death of our
mother Phyllis Craver in January 2005 but have carried on and
expanded the business since then.
Lyle and Brian
Craver are pleased to announce we have completed the purchase of
Capilano Rock & Gem from our father and wish him our best for a
long and happy retirement. As we move ahead we want to
particularly thank our many long time customers for their
continuing patronage through the years. In
the next few months our #1 goal is to
enhance customer service. Two of the ways we will be working to
improve customer service are by further enhancing our website
and introducing a new point of sale system later this year.
While it will
be a new era for us we hope that customers will see the change
as seamlessly as possible.
